Chapter 39.2
Chapter 39.2
Rubbing the thick length along her bare thigh, Gukhyun whispered in a harsh, commanding tone, “At times like this, you should put your cheeks against me, baby.”
“Hng…”
“And when I’m acting like trash, you just gonna stand there and take it?”
Burying his face in her neck, Gukhyun let out a low groan.
“Huu…”
It seemed he was trying to calm his excitement. His broad shoulders rose and fell noticeably. Feeling his hot breath, Heeju said,
“Guess I’m no better than you.”
“No, you’re not.”
Gukhyun raised his head. With an unfamiliar expression she’d never seen before, he stared intently into Heeju’s eyes.
“You’ve lived too kindly to be playing in the gutter with me.”
Then came the soft, wet sound of his lips pressing to hers. He sucked gently, letting go, then brushed and teased with a tenderness that felt strangely familiar. She realized he kissed her like this during the afterglow, after he had finished inside her.
“…Enough now.”
“Mm.”
“Hhh… I said, stop.”
“Shh.”
Even as she told him to quit, he kept nuzzling and rubbing at her lips, irritatingly persistent. Then, out of nowhere, Gukhyun pressed his fingers to her mouth. Pinned beneath him, Heeju looked up at him with dissatisfaction in her eyes.
“What is it?”
“Someone’s coming.”
Heeju shut her mouth. After listening intently for a moment, Gukhyun said with certainty,
“It’s Yunam.”
“How do you know?”
“His footsteps.”
She couldn’t hear a thing…
Heeju followed Gukhyun and perked up her ears. After a moment, she faintly heard signs of someone approaching. Footsteps were getting closer. However, she couldn’t tell who it was because they were hidden by the wall.
“And the smell.”
Gukhyun playfully wrinkled his nose.
“For a guy, he smells pretty good.”
“What… are you an animal? You can tell people apart by their scent?”
“Yup.”
He buried his nose in her neck again, inhaling deeply as if savoring her scent.
“I could probably find you by smell from a hundred meters away.”
“You lie as soon as you open your mouth, really.”
Heeju frowned and pushed away his shoulder that was leaning towards her. He stepped back without resistance.
Just then, the person who appeared from behind the wall was really Yunam. He stopped in his tracks when he saw Gukhyun in a relaxed mood, then bowed his head.
“Executive Director.”
Yunam used to alternate between calling him “hyung” and “Executive Director,” but there seemed to be a time and place.
Heeju’s eyes met Yunam’s. He gave her a slight nod in greeting before approaching Gukhyun and handing him his suit jacket.
“The event’s about to start. You should head over.”
“Yeah, let’s go.”
Gukhyun straightened his tie, put on the jacket, and turned to Heeju.
“Wanna stay for some noodles?”
“Noodles?”
“Yeah, the noodles here are good. Oh, maybe you ate them so much when you lived here that you got sick of them?”
He shoved his hands into his pockets and glanced at Yunam.
“She used to live here. Isn’t that interesting?”
Yunam looked surprised for a moment, then gave a small nod.
“Ah, I see.”
“Chulhyun will come and get you, so stick close to him. I’ll see you at home later, yeah?”
Gukhyun gently tousled Heeju’s hair, his hand brushing over the crown of her head, then turned away. Yunam gave her a slight nod before following him. Heeju stood still and watched the two men head toward the main building. At some point, the snowfall had stopped.

“Let’s just eat this real quick before we go, yeah? I was starving anyway.”
Though he’d said they would only drop by for a moment, once the noodles started being served, Chulhyun’s mouth watered so much it was clear he didn’t want to leave. Since the meeting time wasn’t fixed, Heeju reluctantly sat down at the table with him.
The staff brought over generous bowls of banquet noodles. Steam billowed up from the freshly boiled broth.
Before it even cooled, Cheolhyeon was already slurping the noodles down noisily. While Heeju had only just picked up her chopsticks, his bowl was already half empty. He really meant it when he said he’d eat quickly. Heeju hurried to lift some noodles herself.
Unlike the two of them tucked away at a corner table, Gukhyun and Yoonam were seated at the place of honor. After appearing on stage to hand over the donation and pose for photos, they now seemed to be listening to the elderly director of the orphanage offer words of thanks.
Gukhyun responded with impeccable politeness. The smile spread across his face looked dignified, almost stately.
