Chapter 49.2
Chapter 49.2
Seok-kyung’s tone sharpened, perhaps displeased by her lack of enthusiasm. His expression seemed somewhat sulky.
“No, that’s not it. It’s just…”
Right. So what? A mountain is a mountain, and water is water. She could just let it go in one ear and out the other.
Quick to adapt, Ara quickly compromised with herself. She had just given him a snack as a gift and had become a bit closer, so there was no need to create a distancing atmosphere that would ruin her mood.
“I just thought I might hear nagging from both sides.”
At her straightforward explanation, Seok-kyung narrowed his brows again.
“I’ll just accept it as my fate. Let’s hurry.”
Ara spoke as if she had reached enlightenment and slipped between Seol-do and Seok-kyung.
Seok-kyung glanced down at Ara standing next to him, then let out a short sigh and raised his right hand.
Snap!
The crisp sound of his finger snap created a significant atmosphere.

The new space beyond the entrance was unfamiliar. Instead of the traditional market in Sinya Town that she had visited a few times, they were greeted by a grand and massive modern building.
“Is this… a department store?”
Ara asked as she looked around.
“Today, I said we should come out somewhere special.”
Seol-do draped her arm over Ara’s shoulder with a meaningful expression.
“I’m warning you in advance, don’t waste time looking at price tags. No saying it’s too expensive, I’ll buy it next time, or I’ll just get the cheapest. All of that is forbidden.”
She glared at Ara from a distance close enough for their foreheads to almost touch. It was a threatening look that rivaled that of a store owner.
Ara rolled her eyes and opened her mouth.
“But I’ve almost spent all the allowance you gave me back then…”
“Honestly, what a worrywart.”
Seol-do shook her head and pointed at Seok-kyung with her other arm.
“The payment will obviously be handled by him. Why worry when there’s an endless vault?”
Ara glanced at Seok-kyung hesitantly.
Given that they had agreed on ten billion plus three months’ interest, and she was living there for free, she couldn’t help but worry about whether she deserved to enjoy such privileges.
“You won’t be running away from debt, so feel free to buy.”
As if reading her concerns, Seok-kyung added another remark in a nonchalant tone.
“Got it.”
Only then did Ara nod slightly.
“Alright, then… let’s start by looking at pants over there.”
Finally, Seol-do took the lead like a commander and began to scour the store.
Ara followed her, momentarily setting aside her own opinions.
After all, those two stubborn ones would never listen to her. The styles she usually enjoyed wearing would hardly satisfy their tastes.
The only places she would wear the clothes they bought would be the goblin realm’s house and the market. Wouldn’t it be better to fulfill the wishes of the person buying the clothes, considering she was receiving them for free?
“Try this on first.”
Ara repeatedly tried on and took off the candidates that Seok-kyung had picked out.
It was a bit of a hassle, but it wasn’t entirely boring. All the clothes Seok-kyung had chosen suited her remarkably well.
“Now you look like a person. Let’s ditch that outfit and wear this one.”
Seol-do nodded vigorously every time Ara came out in a new outfit. She had a genuinely satisfied expression.
“I was still a person even when I looked like a beggar…”
“Right. You were a beggar person. Now you’re just a person.”
Ara gave up on further rebuttal and quietly accepted the new clothes. After all, doll play continues until the doll owner decides to stop.
After thoroughly searching the women’s clothing store and finally leaving with a dozen tops and bottoms, Ara was finally liberated from the Mobius dressing room. This was the result of her protests being thoroughly ignored.
“Alright, next course.”
Seol-do, seemingly unfazed, sipped on an iced Americano as they headed to a new store. Ara followed behind with a dazed expression.
Seok-kyung walked at the back, his hands full of shopping bags. His gaze was consistently directed at Ara, both inside and outside the store.
Though he didn’t voice it, he was quite pleased with the gradually changing appearance of Ara. The light blue blouse and dark jeans she wore suited her very well.
What kind of shoes would match that perfectly…?
As he stared at the sneakers that were starting to bother him, he was suddenly interrupted.
Standing tall, Seol-do blocked Seok-kyung’s path in front of a store entrance.
“Are you two already that close?”
“That close?”
Only then did Seok-kyung tear his gaze away from Ara, looking confused.
“I thought it seemed like you were trying to pick out something for her directly.”
Seol-do stepped aside and pointed to the display behind her.
What was showcased there were various sets of lingerie adorned with fancy decorations.
