Chapter 268.2
Chapter 268.2
“Please save me. Your husband is a pitiful, sick bastard who cannot do anything without you.”
“….”
“I want to feel Han Seoryeong every day, every second. Even in moments when you are not by my side. I want to feel you while I wait.”
Seoryeong threw her arms around him so tightly it felt as if her bones might shatter. Even with her flustered expression, she suppressed a smile. Lee Wooshin kept rambling.
Whether you step outside to save the neighborhood, the country, or even the world. I will wait until you open the front door and walk back in. This time, I mean it. I will not interfere.
His lips brushing the back of her neck felt hot.
‘That is why I need it, Seoryeong. Your trace. One fragment of you that will live and wriggle on.’
“Do not say it in such a scary way.”
She scolded him softly, and Lee Wooshin let out a sigh as he pulled her small head closer. He held her so tightly that she had no chance to feel the cold. Instead, she felt warm, as if wrapped inside a shield.
An imperfect love completely surrounded her. Seoryeong patted her large, towering husband and smiled with curved eyes.
“Okay. Okay. Then instead of psychiatry, let us go to obstetrics and gynecology together.”
Their lips met again.
“―!”
Boom. A massive explosion erupted. At the thunderous sound, Lee Wooshin turned around.
The outer wall of the warehouse collapsed, and enormous fragments crashed down. Electricity surged through the wreckage, sparks snapping and scattering. Black smoke climbed up the walls and covered the sky, and the stench of burning filled the air.
The shockwave knocked the couple to the ground. They fell flat, each shielding the other’s head as their bodies slammed against the floor and dust billowed up around them.
Lee Wooshin lifted his head and stared at the dark blaze for a long time.
There was no sign that anyone had come out alive.

It took three more days before Seoryeong returned home. She traveled by a small aircraft, using the escape route Lee Wooshin had arranged in advance.
After they preserved Tae Mu-kyung’s body to prevent decay and boarded the plane together, Lee Wooshin’s nagging never stopped.
“We will hold the funeral first, but the decision on whether his death qualifies as killed in the line of duty is important. That will determine whether he is laid to rest in the national cemetery. Once they begin a full investigation into the cause of death, you are going to find it very troublesome. The agent deployed as part of the fake married couple will be summoned the most.”
“It is okay.”
“It is not okay for me.”
“Are you worried we will not have time to make a baby?”
“…What?”
“If we steal moments here and there, we can manage.”
“….”
“I am worried we will not even have time for that.”
Lee Wooshin only moved his lips without speaking. For a second, the look in his eyes carried faint disbelief, and she wondered if she had misread him. But when she saw him rub the inside of his mouth with the tip of his sharp tongue before suddenly breaking into laughter, she felt she had not been entirely wrong.
He ran a hand over his strangely flushed forehead and muttered, “Why is a grown woman so cute?” before covering her face with kisses.
His lips curved upward in a long, satisfied smile, still as handsome as ever. They sat pressed tightly together, discussing what lay ahead.
“But… I never once thought about having a baby before. When you brought it up first, Instructor, my heart tilted in that direction. I just leaned that way. I honestly never imagined it… but when you asked me to leave something in your arms, I suddenly wanted to. It feels… exciting. I feel a little fluttery. And hopeful too. But if we are going to have one, I would like a son who looks like you, Instructor….”
Each time she spoke, scratching the back of her neck in embarrassment, his warm and lingering gaze settled over her.
And without fail, it always ended in a kiss.
It happened again the moment Lee Wooshin, unable to hold back, pulled her face toward him and pressed his lips to hers.
