Chapter 255.2
Chapter 255.2
Lee Wooshin pulled her waist closer as if it didn’t matter. He brushed off the area of her clothes that Channa had been holding onto, and rubbed his scent onto the nape of her neck.
At that moment, loud footsteps echoed again, and the door swung open. The two, frozen in their embrace, turned their gazes toward the door.
Channa, panting, stared intently at Seoryeong, specifically at her belly.
“Sister, do you want something to eat?”
“Hmm?”
“I can go out and buy oranges, tangerines, or grapefruits…—”
Just then, Lee Wooshin, with a hardened expression, pushed Channa away without hesitation. In the blink of an eye, the two disappeared from view.
What just happened?
As Seoryeong listened intently, she heard the sound of scuffling.
‘It’s true, unnie used to…!’
‘Hurry up. Whether it’s cookies or grapefruits, just go eat until you’re stuffed.’
‘If you talk like that, the baby won’t come…’
‘Shh, aren’t you leaving soon?’
Soon, the stairs echoed with a bounce, and the door opened again.
“….”
“….”
Seoryeong stared at her husband without blinking. His strangely flushed face was gnawing at her nerves.
What’s going on?
He was the first to look away, rubbing the back of his neck as he headed toward another lesson room. As she waited in the unknown discomfort, he returned with a box in hand.
Even as Seoryeong narrowed her eyes suspiciously, he didn’t seem bothered at all.
Lee Wooshin had returned with a perfectly expressionless face. Instead, he began to hand her small equipment he pulled from the box with an even stricter expression.
First, he slipped a ring onto her right ring finger. It appeared to be an ordinary silver ring, but the explanation he gave was anything but.
“There’s a micro radar sensor embedded in the ring. Within a thirty-meter radius, it can detect each other’s heart rates and breathing. If there are any anomalies, it will alert you with vibrations.”
“Excuse me?”
Next was a watch. He called it a Vital Connector. As he fastened the watch onto her wrist, he explained.
“This sensor reads stress levels and temperature changes when it touches your skin. If your condition becomes dangerous, it will automatically switch to Morse code and be sent to me. So don’t let your body get unnecessarily hot. Got it, baby?”
“….”
“There’s no reason for you to get hot over there, right?”
His gentle tone carried an undertone of pressure that felt like a warning, and Seoryeong simply nodded.
Lee Wooshin placed the last earpiece in her ear. It was so small that it was almost invisible from the outside.
“It’s 128-bit encrypted communication. No matter how noisy it gets, you’ll be able to hear my voice clearly. Like the other devices, if your heart rate spikes to a dangerous level, the communication will automatically open.”
He placed a hand on Seoryeong’s shoulder as if to emphasize his point.
“This is something I always tell new recruits, but you must never act alone. Especially my owl, you need to be even more careful. If you sense anything strange during the operation, contact me immediately. Understood? Leave the rest to your superior, and you get out. The most important thing for an agent is to come back alive. Our goal as a couple is to return. That’s all.”
His gaze dropped seriously. The equipment he had fitted her with served to ensure their safety while also being tools for discreet mission execution. Seoryeong felt a surge of emotion at his thoughtfulness.
“I’ll set everything up as quickly as possible and follow you. Just one week. Just one week, wait for me.”
He swallowed a sigh and embraced Seoryeong. Her perfectly shaped chin fit snugly against the top of her head.
“I’ll be watching how you behave in front of the undercover husband all this time. You’d better keep your wits about you, Agent Han Seoryeong.”
Despite feeling a bit annoyed, Seoryeong couldn’t help but smile.
“Don’t just laugh; answer me. How should you act?”
Suddenly, Lee Wooshin bit her earlobe, causing her to flinch involuntarily.
