Chapter 247.1
Chapter 247.1
There was silence at the end of the line.
“This is driving me crazy. I’ve reached my limit. I can’t hold back any longer. So I’m giving you one day, He Channa. Get Team Owl together and contact me. As soon as possible.”
―…Got it?
As Lee Wooshin picked up the knife again, he barked orders like a raging bull.
“There’s no way Seoryeong will pass the National Intelligence Service. Even if she dies and comes back to life, that shouldn’t happen. I will make sure she fails.”
His eyes sank into darkness.
“First, let’s take a look at the health check-up report.”
***
On a sunny weekend morning, Seoryeong quietly got out of bed, listening to her husband’s shower.
After the hectic weekdays, she was finally enjoying a leisurely day. On days like this, Seoryeong felt the need to roll up her sleeves. Even for her husband, who usually took care of all the household chores, she wanted to do something whenever she had a bit of free time.
As she quietly made her way to the kitchen and opened the upper cabinet to take out a pot–
Crash!
As soon as she opened the cabinet door, the pots stacked haphazardly tumbled out. The first pot narrowly missed her due to her awkward posture as she twisted to the left.
She slightly turned her shoulder to deflect the second one. But when it came to the last pot, she moved reflexively and knocked into a bowl on the table.
Why is this here? The rice bowl fell to the floor with a sharp sound. The stainless steel pot rolled around on the floor, and pieces of the broken bowl scattered everywhere.
‘No… the house is a complete mess!’
What’s going on?
At the same time, the ladle that had been precariously hanging fell with a loud bang. At that moment, Seoryeong sensed something strange that was different from usual.
What’s this… something feels off…
Had this ever happened before? Was Lee Wooshin’s area this disorganized? As Seoryeong pondered, she bent down to clean up the broken dishes.
Suddenly, the bathroom door burst open, and someone approached, dripping water. The man, barely wearing a towel around his waist, widened his eyes at the messy kitchen.
“Are you hurt?”
Water dripped from his wet hair, flowing down his solid collarbone. His dark hair looked even darker, and his muscular shoulders stood out as he froze in place.
Maybe it was too early in the morning… Seoryeong felt a sudden rush of embarrassment, her ears heating up. It was hard to take her eyes off the droplets sliding down the contours of his broad chest.
“…It’s okay, Instructor. You finish showering. I’ll clean up.”
Quickly turning her head to pick up the pieces of the broken dish, she was suddenly hit by the scent of shower gel.
“Don’t touch anything dangerously.”
A cautious hand wrapped around her shoulder and pushed her back.
“I’ll do it. You might get hurt.”
Lee Wooshin, who spoke softly, knelt down in her place. He began to carefully gather the shards.
He must have rushed out, as there were still remnants of shampoo bubbles around his neck. Seoryeong felt a sudden chill on her nose and pulled it hard, then grabbed a new towel. As she gently wiped his neck, he chuckled.
“If you keep this up from the morning, the neighbors below will think we’re having a domestic dispute.”
“Why do you care about the neighbors downstairs?” She asked.
“What?”
“Whatever the woman downstairs thinks, why act like you’re being watched? It’s suspicious.”
“…..”
Lee Wooshin paused in picking up the shards and looked up at her. Strangely, the corners of his mouth twitched. He bit his lip and continued to tidy up the kitchen floor.
After gathering all the pieces and even vacuuming, he turned to Seoryeong. She was sitting at the table, resting her chin on her hand, admiring… no, staring at him.
For some reason, her suspicious gaze made his eyebrows raise.
“What is it, Seoryeong? What do you want me to do now?”
“Instructor, did you not sleep well last night?”
“…..”
“I noticed the bed was slightly damp this morning. Did you sweat?”
“A little.”
With his simple acknowledgment, Seoryeong jumped up. She quickly approached and touched Lee Wooshin’s forehead. It was strange; he didn’t have a fever… Her worried voice was low and slow.
Lee Wooshin took her hand to check if any glass dust had stuck to it, inspecting each finger, brushing it off, and even blowing on it dramatically.
What is this? The sharp crease in his brow, focused as if he were concentrating, felt oddly new. Seoryeong felt a tickle in her chest as she spoke.
“Put on some clothes quickly.”
“What?”
His face, looking bewildered, had a strange nuance to it.
