Chapter 228.1
Chapter 228.1
“Are you done?”
At that moment, the deep, resonating voice jolted her awake. Lee Wooshin kissed her shoulder, neck, and cheek one after another, as if in a half-sleep.
The ticklish sensation and the sight of Lee Wooshin in front of her seemed unreal. Seoryeong froze stiff, like a stone. Her throat stung, and her chest ached.
“Seoryeong, why are you crying?”
Lee Wooshin immediately noticed the change in her breathing, and he opened his eyes that had been shut in restraint. His clear gaze met her tear-streaked cheek. He raised his hand as if to wipe away the tears, but he clicked his tongue at the bandages tightly wrapped like gloves.
Suppressing something, his Adam’s apple bobbed as he quickly pulled Seoryeong toward him and pressed his lips to hers. With his lips, he gently wiped away the tears from her damp cheeks.
“Why are you crying, huh? Why?”
His voice, soothing and sweet, coaxed her. The more he offered her warmth, the more Seoryeong felt the urge to cry. But for her own sake, she would smile happily in this moment.
“I… I found my husband. Finally, I did it…”
Gasping for breath, she forced a smile, trying to close her eyes. There was no more doubt, no more loss. She had the man right in front of her, and all the events leading up to this point flashed in her mind. Looking back, it had been a series of violent and absurd actions, but they had been filled with desperation and longing.
He was the man she had fought so hard to get.
Even if she had to attempt to defect to the North a hundred more times, she could do it. She had no regrets about the life she had walked with him.
As Seoryeong smiled, completely revealing herself, a distant gaze landed on her. The subtle expression that seemed both scrunched and flushed gradually softened, and without realizing, Lee Wooshin smiled along with her.
Seoryeong faced him, the man she wanted to look at again and again, and confessed.
“I love you, Instructor. Now, I… I’ve come to believe in myself too.”
Her words were filled with conviction. Her tearful eyes sparkled brightly.
“Even if you do something terrible in the future, even if you deceive me again and leave without a word, I believe I can overcome it, again and again.”
Lee Wooshin’s gaze deepened, scrutinizing her closely.
“I even had the strength to end this love, by myself. So, I won’t waver. I want to be the home where you can always return.”
“….”
“You can keep working as an agent.”
At this, Lee Wooshin’s expression shifted subtly.
“You are a strong person. You are upright and kind.”
Seoryeong finally spoke the words she had been holding since they were on that unnamed island. The world she hadn’t seen before, she could now embrace completely. She wanted to become someone who could embrace all of it.
She wrapped her arms around his wide chest and rubbed her face against him like a cat.
“This is all because I love you. You taught me that I am a strong person. You showed me that even if I get hurt, I can still love. I’ll keep living like this. I’m confident.”
“What confidence?”
His chest rose and fell calmly, but the faint redness in his eyes showed his emotions were stirred.
“No matter what pain I go through, I’m confident I won’t break.”
“…”
“Try deceiving me again. Lie all you want. There’s no woman in this world who loves, hates, and will punish you more than I do. I’ll chase you to the ends of the earth and kiss you.”
His gaze, fixed solely on her, appeared especially intense. The look in his eyes made it seem like he wanted to devour everything about her, from head to toe. Seoryeong blushed but did not shy away from his gaze.
Lee Wooshin immediately changed positions and moved on top of her. With his elbows supporting him, he trapped her head, while their legs intertwined and his body pressed against hers.
When Seoryeong instinctively tried to pull away from the firm protrusion, he was the first to bite her earlobe. A low sigh slipped out of him like molten iron. His breath, his tone, everything about him was hot.
“Our baby, why did she suddenly turn into an unnie*?”
*Unnie – older sister
“Don’t tease me.”
“Don’t grow up, Seoryeong. Don’t grow up than this.”
“What are you saying?”
“If only my wife would grow up in one go, I would feel lonely.”
“Mmph!”
Heat rose from their joined lips. Their movements, as if they had been one from the start, showed no sign of stopping. The slippery, wet flesh persistently explored and entangled the tip of her tongue. The more their tongues tangled, the more her body squirmed.
“Ngh!”
When his tongue swept over her even teeth and soft gums, she couldn’t help but let out a moan. At that, the man, who had flinched even more than she had, rubbed her swollen gums as if soothing them.
The strange sensation born from discomfort gradually grew. Perhaps because of that, it felt as if the inside of her mouth was his territory to protect.
