Seoryeong stripped off her clothes, letting each layer fall to the floor before stepping into the bathroom.

By the time she arrived at Lee Wooshin’s hospital room, the night was already deep.

The tracking device she had placed on Kim Hyun had remained in Sehwa Hospital all day, only to end up at the incineration site where medical waste was collected.

She climbed up to his empty hospital room and rummaged through his drawers and closet. Dust had settled thickly on the windowsill and table, as if no one had been in or out for days.

Returning to the bed, she pressed her face into the pillow then suddenly flinched. The scent was unfamiliar. Irritated, she grabbed the pillow and hurled it away. Something hot bubbled up inside her, swelling like molten lava about to burst.

She yanked off her clothes and headed back to the bathroom.

The sound of rushing water echoed for a while before she finally emerged, her body bare.

She draped a thin sheet loosely around herself and sat on the floor, dripping water in silence.

Not long after—click. The door creaked open, and the wheels of a wheelchair rolled inside.

“You…!”

Lee Wooshin shot up, striding toward her in quick, heavy steps.

“Your phone was off, and you just disappeared. Where the hell were you?”

“Where did you go, Instructor?”

“…”

“I told you to wait.”

He exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair.

“Why are you dressed like that? It’s cold.”

“I went home to wash up. On the way back, I wanted to buy flowers, but…” His voice trailed off in a murmur.

The thin sheet barely clinging to her slipped off, and in one swift motion, she pulled him toward her.

He froze.

Seoryeong crashed her lips against his.

“Han Se—!”

Her rough tongue slashed through his mouth like a blade. The moment their bodies touched, a shiver ran down her spine.

Cold corpses, torn flesh. Those images flashed through her mind. The acrid stench of burning bodies clung to her nose, and the memory of holding the dead in her arms, sobbing uncontrollably, surged through her trembling tongue.

Soft, decayed flesh… Faces that caved in with the slightest touch… Even then, he had stayed by her side. He had been there.

Seoryeong’s tongue moved aggressively, filling his hot mouth with her slick, writhing flesh.

“Haa…”

She sucked on his tongue, biting down. The bitter, burnt taste spread across her tongue. Was this sensation pain, disgust, or sorrow?
